Curtain Call for an Icon

Today, it wasconfirmed by news giant ABS-CBN that one of the pillars of the Philippine entertainment industry,Rodolfo “Dolphy” Quizon, passed away after more than a month being confined in the hospital due to respiratory ailments.
This happened before his 84th birthday which will be July 25. Tonight, I was watching the news with my sister and discuss about what his some said in the interview. Epi Quizon said that "Gusto nang umuwi ni Papa" or his father is telling them that he wants to go home. The first thing I said then is that " siguro gusto na niyang umuwi dahil malapit na siguro (ang oras niya) no" or I think that he wants to go home because his time is drawing near. And this happened. I went down to feed my dogs and when I came inside my house and was informed about his death.
This is such a sad day for the entertaiment industry. One of the icons, who was known as the "King of Comedy" has left us. I will miss his smiles, his punchline jokes as well as the happy memories when he makes people happy. It has been almost six decades since he started in show business and made a lot of generations laugh and cheer. Now he is gone, RVQ will surely be missed.
P.S. To NCCA, President Aquino and his minions. You should be ashamed of yourselves for not giving Dolphy the National Artist Award. It was already long due. And you still making silly excuses that he is not qualified and sticking your political power to prevent him from having the award. Now that he passed away is the time that you'll act?!

Almost Got Punked Today

There are a lot of people this days who are very greedy. They try to outsmart other people for there own comfort. It almost happened to me today yet again. Luckily I was very much aware of that persons gimmick. The person approach me to buy some chicken breast and thigh. Though that person is always buying from us, it is always suspicious. That person claims that \she already paid a five hundred peso bill and always ask for change. And it didn't happened just this once. It happened twice before this incident. She thought a third try will work again but it didn't. I saw her movements getting and waving a five hundred peso bill on her hands while I was busy chopping her order. It also happens that another customer is right before her. After the first customer left. She hid the bill on her other pocket pretending that she already paid. She asked me for another set of thigh and some chicken liver to boot. Before I could finished her order I checked on my money present in my apron to make sure no five hundred bill is present. At the time I finished the order and handed it to her, she asked for large bags for her other things. I waited for her to pay and asked her to pay up. She may already noticed that I know what she is thinking and left her things and fled the scene with an alibi. That person uses people's niceness for her advantage. Unluckily for her, I foiled that attempt. Next time she approaches, she'll get what she deserves.
